Highlights of the racist Arab, Islamic fascist, butcher and brutal dictator: Muammar Gadhafi:

  • 1) Planting the seeds in the 1970s for the recent genocide in the Sudan. Involved in the bloody violence there, early on.* His (pan-Arabism) ‘racist,’ ‘fascist’ influence on Al-Bashir and co., who brought the genocide upon non-Muslims first (pan-Islamism), then on non-Arabs in Sudan.* * In the 1980s, waving the banner of the “Arab Gathering” (Al tajammu al-arabi) – a “militantly racist and pan-Arabist
    organization.”* Evoking 1930s fascistic Arab supremacy,* and Arab superiority.* * He’s also known to be the biggest importer of black children slaves from the slave markets of Khartoum, Sudan.* The Arab Republic is a known source for Sudanese slaves, mostly women and children, who have been captured in the course of that country’s civil war.*
  • 2) Allied with the butcher of Uganda, culminating into strong fanatic ‘Islamic’ ties (Gadhafi himself a fanatical Muslim.* * Indeed, at the opening of ‘Idi Amin’s Dream Mosque, named after Qaddafi, the crowds chanted “long live Gaddafi”)*. Influencing anti-Jewish bigotry on the Ugandan leader.*
  • 3) Epitomizing his dictatorship and character, the 17 April 1984 shooting at 11 people and killing British policewoman Yvonne Fletcher amid a protest against his brutal regime,* which he “apologized” for, at the end.*
  • 4) Terrorism, the 1986 bombing of the La Belle Cafe in Berlin, Germany, the 1988 massacre – bombing of Pan-Am 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland (270 killed), which he personally ordered to,* and the 1989 downing of a French aircraft UTA Flight 772 (170 killed).* * * *
    In an October 4, 2003 speech, as he spoke of Libya’s work for the pan-Arab cause, accused the Arab countries of ingratitude, he said that women should be trained to carry out suicide operations in Baghdad and in Gaza.*

    In 2001, Gaddafi sent thugs to help (anti-white racist* * and persecutor of Anglican Christians* *) Mugabe fight election battle, the Libyan dictator urged Zimbabwe’s Asian Muslims to wage a jihad against Zimbabwe’s small white population.*

    In February 2010, he urged ‘holy war’ [jihad] against Switzerland.*
  • 5) Despicable alliance with L. Farrakhan.
    In February 1985, Qaddafi called on Black servicemen in the US Army to leave the military, create their own army, and fight “your racist oppressors.” Three months later, infamous anti-white racist *: L. Farrakhan of the “Nation of Islam” (he, his Nation of Islam organization have been described as fascist.* * * *) received $5 Billion dollars interest-free loan from Libya.* Farrakhan-Gadhafi alliance grew.* * In fact, it is common knowledge that the Nation of Islam receives considerable financial assistance from Sudan and Libya.*

    His relationship with the Libyan tyrant was described as if he were saying: oppressing Third World people is OK with me unless the oppressors happen to be white, like South Africa’s former rulers.* Farrakhan was the only known leader to have been supporting dictator Qaddafi (calling him a “friend,” after all, and that if he’s tried for crimes against humanity, so should be G. W. Bush…) at a time when everyone shunned him, as he was murdering his people for protesting against his oppressive rule in Feb. 2011.* The Islamic anti-Semite, in the same breath -naturally- has also managed somehow to blame the Jews, embedding his infamous distortion of history, as he often tries to rewrite history and minimizing the main force in slavery – Arab Muslim.* * *
    The typical hypocrite – hater Farrakhan -rather- supports Sudan’s Arab-Islamic slavery, the real slavery in our times.*
  • 6) In 1987 Qaddafi was accused by Chad’s President H. Habre of “bringing a truly racist crusade against Chad and Africa.”*
  • 7) In 1998, the UN spoke out against Libya’s Racial Discrimination.* In 2000 there was a serious upsurge in anti-African racist violent attacks in the Libyan Arab Republic. Thousands have fled.* * Still, today, Millions of blacks are treated with harsh racial discrimination (Arab Apartheid). They are referred to as “animals” and as “slaves.”* * *
  • 8) Showing his true racist* colors against both: blacks, and “white Christians,” he was “worried” of “Black Europe” and urged EU cash to stop African migrants. He said: “We don’t know what will happen, what will be the reaction of the white and Christian Europeans faced with this influx of starving and ignorant Africans…We don’t know if Europe will remain an advanced and united continent or if it will be destroyed, as happened with the barbarian invasions.”*
  • 9) The hypocritical [Qaddafi regime’s] chairing of the infamous anti-Israel bigoted so-called “anti-racism” conference, in Durban (2), 2010.*

Sudan is the microcosm of Black Africa’s unacknowledged Arab problem, a problem of racism, colonialism, enslavement and an Arab agenda of cultural, political and territorial expansion at the expense of Black Africa. It would take a fat book to adequately explain these matters; however, the brief answers to the 11 questions below attempt to throw preliminary light on the situation of the Afro-Sudanese.

Q1: What is the basic problem in Sudan?
In Sudan, Black Africans (The Afro-Sudanese in South Sudan, Darfur, Nubia, etc) are fighting against an Arab settler minority regime, ruling from Khartoum. They are fighting against a racist, Arab supremacist rule that is worse, much worse, than Apartheid. The Sudan situation has many of the features of Apartheid and, to make things worse, the raiding of black African villages by Arabs who sell black captives into slavery in Northern Sudan and other parts of the Arab world, is still going on there today in the 21st century. Slave raiding was not even part of the loathsome evils of Apartheid.
The South Sudanese, after a 50years war of liberation (1955-2005)—the longest war in Africa– finally got Khartoum to sign the Comprehensive Peace Agreement, CPA, in 2005. The CPA has the backing of the International Community. It grants the South Sudanese limited autonomy through the Government of South Sudan, and provides for a Self-Determination referendum in 2011. The referendum will give the people of South Sudan the chance to decide whether South Sudan will remain within Sudan or secede and become independent.
In a replay of how Khartoum unilaterally abrogated the 1972 Addis Ababa peace accord that ended the Anya-Anya phase of the Afro-Arab race war in Sudan, [an accord that, like the CPA, also granted regional autonomy to South Sudan], Khartoum is determined to kill the CPA, and is maneuvering to resume war on South Sudan and prevent the referendum.

On Sunday, the people of Southern Sudan will begin voting on whether to remain part of a unified Sudan or become an independent state. Sudan, Africa’s largest nation, is an oil-rich country run by Islamist Arabs. What happens there matters to all of us for strategic and humanitarian reasons. Here’s what you need to know:

For generations, southern Sudan has been dominated by the Islamist-run government in Khartoum, which has sought to impose Sharia law on the south’s Christians and animists.

Religion is one of the main causes of two bloody civil wars that have killed two million southern Sudanese. Another point of contention: control of Sudan’s oil reserves that lie mostly in the south and along the border with the north. If, as expected, the south votes to secede, many fear another wave of violence, despite assurances from Sudan’s president, Omar al Bashir, that he will accept the results of the election: “If the south secedes, we will welcome it.”

But can Bashir be trusted? He has been indicted as a war criminal for his brutal military campaign against rebels and civilians in Darfur. That fighting, which began in 2003, has left 300,000 dead. Need to Know sent producer George Lerner to southern Sudan to report on one former refugee’s efforts to help rebuild his homeland in anticipation of a vote for independence.

Some of the nomadic sheiks of the region came to see themselves as the avatars of Arabism, the authentic representatives of their Bedouin origins. They foisted a racial label on a farming people whose way of life they simultaneously distained and felt threatned by.

Darfur TV cameras cover violence in the Middle East,  but a war of… ferocity has been going on in Darfur, western Sudan, since 2004, largely unnoticed. Here the goal of Sudanese Arab gun-wielding, horse-riding,  janjaweed militias is to eliminate the non-Arab population. Dr Deng traces the conflict to its toots, dating back to ancient times, when the Arabs traded freely with Bilad al-Sudan, an Arabic phrase “from which Sudan derives its name” and which means “Land of the BlacksThe term land of the blacks was one applied to regions of Africa by almost all outsiders. Today, because the continent’s countries were named by outsiders a good number of them have names that translate as land of the blacks:

They associate these features with the Negroid race and see it as the mother race of slaves, inferior and demeaned.

“Having been permitted by Islam and the assimilationist Arab culture to pass into the supposedly superior Arab-Islamic identity, northern Sudanese ‘Arabs’ (39%) do not only vehemently resist any attempt by the non-Arab population (61% nation-wide, with 33% in the South and 28% in the North) to identify the country with black Africa,” says Dr Deng.

They insist on defining it as an Arab country “A prominent northern Sudanese scholar and statesman has even suggested that the Sudan should change its name because it is reminiscent of a denigrated racial label.”

“In the Sudanese context, the more the North asserts its Arabness, the more the South asserts Africanness as a counter identity,” says Dr Deng. Therein lies the heart of the conflict: “In both the North and the South, then, the identity factors have been moved from the realm of benign self-perception to the politically contested stage of national symbolism with the associated implications of shaping and sharing power, wealth, and other national values.”

But, while the conflicting identities between the North and the South appear clear-cur, there are also large groups of non-Arab communities in the North (about 28%) “who have been partially assimilated by their conversion to Islam and adoption of Arabic as the language of communication with other tribes.” These groups have been “virtually adopted by the dominant Arab groups as ‘orphans’ of Arabism, redeemed from their degraded status of their slave origin as black.

“Their identification with Arabism.” Dr Deng says, “is the result of a process in which races and religions were ranked, with Arabs and Muslims respected as free, superior and a race of slave masters, while Negroes and heathens were viewed as legitimate target of slavery, if they were not in fact already slaves.”

All it needed for an African to become an Arab was to convert to Islam, learn to speak Arabic language Arabic language

Ancient Semitic language whose dialects are spoken throughout the Middle East and North Africa. Though Arabic words and proper names are found in Aramaic inscriptions, abundant documentation of the language begins only with the rise of Islam, whose main texts , intermarry with the Arabs and identify genealogically  with the master race. “In due course, so liberal was the process that the claim to Arab ancestry could be made from fictional assertions that usually did not need to be verified.”

Colour of skin is also an important factor in Sudan: “The darker the colour of skin, the less authentic the claim to Arab ancestry and the greater the likelihood of being looked down on as of slave origin.”

The vision of the leadership of Sudanese “Arabs” (39%) for a “united Sudan” is one in which the Southerners (33%) are either peacefully converted or forced into Islam. Their vision is a “united Sudan” in which 39% are “Arabs” while 61% are “orphans” of Arabism. The South has rejected that vision as unacceptable and divisive

The vision of the southern leadership had been that of self-preservation and protection of their ancient beliefs and cultures and, lately, Christianity. But in recent years, led by the SPLA/M, for a “United Sudan” has been that of a nation under secular laws, with religious and racial identities consigned to the realm of benign self-perception.

That was the vision the SPLM/A brought to the negotiating table at Machakos. Under this vision, the identity of the nation would revolve around .. name and the flag. Sudan would no longer be identified as “Islamic” or “Arab” or “African”, though in some appropriate instances beneficial to Sudan it could still be identified as “Afro-Arab”.

That vision was rejected as “unacceptable to Islam” by the government “because Islam is a way of life” and therefore encompasses everything a Muslim does.

The compromise vision, it seemed, was the Machakos Protocol, which would give the South six years of secular self-administration in a United Sudan, with the option of voting for the continuation of such unity in diversity or secession as a separate nation.

But the September suspension of the talks by the government and the call for an all-out war should not be seen as mere protest for the SPLA’s capture of Torit, as no ceasefire agreement was signed.

During the negotiations leading to the Machakos Protocol, the government continued the bombing of SPLA-controlled areas and captured a string of SPLA positions; while the SPLA captured the strategic town of Kapoeta from the government, and none of them walked out of the peace talks in protest.

The likelihood is that President Omar Bashir Omar Bashir can refer to:
Omar al-Bashir, leader of Sudan, like President Numeiri before him, has given in to relentless high and low profiled criticism from pan-Arabists and Islamic extremists for having signed the Machakos Protocol, which they see as signalling either an end to their hegemony over other races and religions or providing a possible way out for the people of the South.

When eventually they return to the negotiating table, the observing nations will find that the Sudanese leaders do not agree on what it was exactly they agreed to in Machakos.

On June 30, 1989, Lieut. Gen. Omar Hassan al-Bashir, a military leader in Sudan, seized power in a bloodless coup backed by Islamists. He assumed the presidency in 1993.
Mr. Bashir has been vilified in the West and blamed over the years for cozying up to Osama bin Laden, abusing human rights and unleashing death squads in Darfur, the war-racked region of western Sudan. Last year, he was charged by the International Criminal Court with crimes against humanity.

The division between Muslim and other victims is unclear. The large district of Noba, populated by many black Muslims, was served its portion of horrors. Non-Arab and/or non-Muslims in the “Arab” world

One key element missing from the discussion is the question of non-Arab and/or non-Muslims in the “Arab” world. The Arab nationalists have succeeded in establishing some 23 non-democratic, ethnically (Arab) and religiously (Islam) defined nation-states in over 1 million square miles of territory, often at the expense of non-Arabs, such as the Kurds (Muslims, non-Arabs), Assyrians (Christians, non-Arabs), Copts (Christians, non-Arabs), southern Sudanese (Christian and pagan non-Arabs), Maronite Lebanese (Christian and mostly identified with their Phoenician ancestors) and Mizrahi Jews. Arab nationalist ideology claims all this territory exclusively as “Arab” despite the legitimate claims of non-Arabs and/or non-Muslims to ancient homelands long ago arabized with the spread of Islam, often through conquest.

I believe that the Arab opposition to the existence of non-Arab, non-Muslim Israel is based on the ideological motivations which led to the persecution of non-Arab minorities. The Assyrians suffered massacre and expulsion by the Arab nationalists of Iraq in the 1920s and 1930s. The Kurds have been persecuted and have suffered terribly for their struggle to establish an independent Kurdistan (at the hands of the Turks and Iranians as well, but that is another story.)

Arab nationalist ideology, and its Islamicist couterpart, cannot and will not tolerate non-Arab and non-Islamic peoples organizing themselves into their own independent nation states. Indeed, I have seen on Islamicist web sites the goal of “regaining” Spain in the name of Islam.

I believe that we need to place Israel’s struggle to survive into this context. Any non-Arab/non-Islamic state in the region must rely on strength (political, moral, spiritual and military) if it wants to survive in the Middle East. In this context can we thus place Israel’s demand for security. It is not security for the sake of security, not seucirty for the sake of oppressing another people, but security for the sake of survival against two racist and exclusivist ideologies (Arabism and Islamicism) which have succeeded in repressing the just struggles for national self-determination of most non-Arab peoples in the Middle East.

Fitzgerald: Arab racism and black Muslims

You can find online complaints about Arab racism from black Muslims (or Black Muslims, that is members of the Nation of Islam, who are not considered real Muslims by the Arabs) in this country. Despite the universalist claims made for Islam, it is, and has always been, a vehicle for Arab supremacism. The reasons are not hard to find. As Anwar Shaikh (an ex-Muslim who was born in Pakistan and died in Wales in 2006) noted in his book Islam, The Arab National Religion, the Arabs consider themselves to be superior to other Muslims because they “received” the message from Allah. It was given to them and was in their language. Non-Arab Muslims are supposed to read the Qur’an, or listen to its recital, only in Arabic. Any other version, in any other language, is not the same thing.

Compare this to the missionaries for Christianity, who in some cases became extraordinary linguists in order to study native languages and dialects and translate the Bible into them. And they did this for languages that in many cases had never had a written form — thereby helping to preserve the language for use, and for study.

And when a Muslim prays, wherever in the world he may be, he is directed to pray — it is a matter of fantastic importance — toward Mecca, toward the Hejaz, toward Arabia, the center of his being.

And the Sunnah, one should not forget, is at least as important as the Qur’an. Some Arabs even say that it is possible to imagine a guide to life with the Sunnah alone, but not with the Qur’an alone. Both matter. And what is the Sunnah? It consists of “practice” — the customs and manners of the early Arabs, that is, of Muhammad and His Companions, that serve to gloss the Qur’an. And the Sunnah is derived from two texts — the Hadith, the written record of the sayings and acts of Muhammad, and the Sira, the biography of Muhammad, the first version of which appeared a century-and-a-half after the historical (if he was historical) Muhammad’s death. What matters is not what parts of the Sira were imagined or which Hadith were made up, and by what means, but which parts Muslims take to be the genuine details of the life of Muhammad, and what Hadith they believe to be the most “authentic” in the compilations of the most “authoritative” — by their lights — muhaddithin.

As Anwar Shaikh notes, the Arabs of Arabia needed their own “religion” to compete with, but not to be completely unlike, the earlier-in-time monotheisms of the lands they first conquered. These lands were inhabited by Christians and Jews. The Jews were not confined to the Land of Israel, but were to be found living, and for a long time, in many parts of the Middle East. They were living in Iran and present-day Iraq, and of course in Arabia itself — for how else could they keep being encountered by Muhammad, in Mecca, Medina (Yathrib), the Khaybar Oasis? The Arab “religion” that they created is clearly the result of taking bits and pieces of pagan Arab pre-Islamic lore (the djinn, for example), mixed with misunderstood and misremembered bits of Judaism and Christianity.

This amalgam was presented to the conquered peoples, the Christians and Jews, as not the New and Improved Version of their faiths (as modern Western marketers might have done with a detergent), but rather as something else — the True Version of Their Faith, which they had misunderstood and distorted or perverted. This made it less strange a faith, and those elements of pre-existing beliefs to be found within it, however jumbled, made it easier for Islam to insinuate itself into the minds of non-Muslims who often converted purely as a practical matter. They did so in order to join the side of the conquerors, to be free of the many disabilities that as non-Muslims they would have to endure (the three choices were: to be killed, to convert, or to endure forever the status of dhimmi, with all that that meant). How many Christians in America today, if they had, in perpetuity, to pay $50,000 per head to remain Christians, would do so? For how many would there be a falling off, and how many each year?

Islam has been a destroyer of other cultures and other languages. In a world that worships “diversity,” the thrust of Islam has been to efface diversity. Languages other than Arabic have received no sympathetic study or attention by Arabs or Muslim missionaries — the effort has been to efface the many languages and cultures that could once be found in the lands conquered. There are, here and there, pockets of Aramaic-speakers in some Syrian villages, a handful of Mandaeans and Yazidis (450 of whom were killed by Muslim bombs in the worst act of Muslim terror in Iraq). There are the Copts in Egypt, or what is left of them, they who once were virtually the entire population of Egypt. There are Assyrians and Chaldeans in Iraq, or what is left of them, they who were once…ditto. And so on.

The history of Arab oppression of blacks, whether those blacks became nominal Muslims or not, is too long. The history of Arab enslavement of blacks started far earlier, was much more devastating in its effects, and continued much later, than the Atlantic slave trade. A scholar has estimated that because Arabs specialized in seizing young black males for use in harems (contrary to the Western imagination, harems were not just for the rulers), and would castrate their hunted prey in situ in the jungle, the mortality rate among those then taken by slave coffle to the waiting boats that would take them to the slave markets of Islam reached 90%. Slavery is legitimate in Islam. Muhammad had slaves. Muhammad is the Perfect Man. Seventh-century Arabia allowed slavery. Seventh-century Arabia provides the Sunnah, the customs and manners that are to be followed. The Arab slave trade went up and down East Africa, with the chief entrepot for the local trade in African blacks being the islands of Zanzibar and Pemba, held by the Arab rulers of Oman. The Arabs also went deep into Central Africa, and into West Africa too, while the European slave-traders never managed to penetrate the interior, preferring to remain on the coast of West Africa and having slaves delivered to them by local tribes.

Slavery was not abolished willingly by the Arabs. It was stamped out, rather, by Western powers. There is no Arab William Wilberforce. There never has been a declaration, by any Arab leader, or government, or theological institute, that slavery is always and everywhere morally wrong. And there cannot be such a declaration, because Muslims are hemmed in by the Example of Muhammad, uswa hasana, al-insan al-kamil, and the practice of the Sunnah. If the French ended Arab enslavement of blacks in much of North Africa, it was the British — the Royal Navy — that helped stamp out the slave trade that continued between Africa and Arabia. This tale is told most fully in J. B. Kelly’s “Britain and the Persian Gulf, 1795-1880.” But the Arabs still managed, as the British presence on the seas diminished, to resurrect that slave trade, which continued into the 1960s.

In 1962, just before slavery was formally abolished — because Saudi Arabia was not yet rich from oil revenues, it had to succumb to Western pressure — 20% at least of the population consisted of black slaves. For more google “Arab slave trade in Africa,” or start here.

It is not surprising that in Dayton, a Muslim girl might have made up a story blaming black men. Nor is it surprising that the Arabs in this congregation want to move from a black neighborhood to a white one. Look at how unwelcome Arabs and Pakistanis have made black Muslims who wish to attend, in any numbers, the same mosques with them. Blacks are seen as fit fodder for conversion to Islam — without really letting potential converts know much about Islam. The proselytizers hold back so much, until their targets are deeply committed and can’t easily get out. They do this so as to swell Muslim ranks and perceived (and real) power, but are not so happy for the new converts to actually associate with Arabs and Pakistanis, who find such an association distasteful. Compare that with the welcoming practice of Christian churches, not least among those evangelicals who have become the butt of so much self-assured mockery.

Not only are most forms of art — sculpture and most painting — forbidden in Islam (look at any major museum at the “Islamic art” — Arabic calligraphy on ceramic plates, and Qur’anic calligraphy on paper), but it is difficult to conduct science within a society suffused with Islam, that discourages every sign of free and skeptical inquiry about the most important thing — Islam — and hence about everything else as well).

And then there is music. There is no Muslim equivalent to the church music of Christianity. Music is forbidden (Black Muslims in America may at times ignore this ban — one more sign of un-orthodoxy). Wherever strict Muslims are in power, they attempt to ban all kinds of music, the folk-music that naturally wells up, as it does in Afghanistan, because it responds to a universal need that the Shari’a laws do not allow to be met. The wedding-singers killed in Afghanistan, the gamelan players in Indonesia disparaged by local Muslims, the RAI singers (often Berbers) threatened or killed in Algeria — all of these are signs and symbols of the Islamic hostility to music. This does not mean that there are not singers. No one denies that there is Arabic music — that oud, those other exotic instruments, or even singers such as Umm Kalthum. But the role of music is much smaller, and it is despite Islam and its discouragement that music appears. The texts and the spirit of Islam, truly adhered to, would deny a role for music altogether. It distracts, you see: distracts from worship.

And in the earlier, pre-old-time-religion phase of her career, Rosetta Tharpe’s performance begs to differ with, and demands to ignore, just as much as does her later work, the hostility to music that is inculcated by Islam. And her many admirers — whose numbers may swell with the two examples of her art posted today — will agree.
