Islamofascism, the Internet, and the liberty contagion

February 23, 2011

Islamofascism, the Internet, and the liberty contagion | Richmond Times-Dispatch

By ROSS MACKENZIE
Published: February 20, 2011

On Egypt et al. let us be very clear.

Joy at the expansion of liberty — maybe even of democracy — is the only defensible sentiment. Any policy based on regime stability alone (as American foreign policy has been based too long) and thereby sanctioning tyranny, autocracy, one-party rule — is based on a premise not only indefensible but false.

The American left went bonkers over George W. Bush’s “Freedom Agenda,” which morphed into a “Freedom Doctrine.” Much of the left never accepted Bush as a legitimate president following the Supreme Court’s ruling about the Florida count in the 2000 election — and so the left could not accept anything he did. Yet it was he who insisted on encouraging democracy to germinate and grow in Iraq, in the hope it might spread throughout the Middle East.

So here we are, with freedom demonstrations from the southern Mediterranean littoral to beyond the Persian Gulf in, even, Iran. Is this apparent contagion a consequence — in a paradigmatic Internet hour — of infectious liberty, and correspondingly eloquent testimony to the fragility of autocratic regimes both Arab and Persian? At almost light-speed, the Internet may have disassembled fascist mullah rule across the Muslim world. Can you not hear — in the streets from Algiers to Tehran — liberty’s alluring song?

Maybe. And maybe not.

Islamofascism is our century’s Soviet communism. It seeks worldwide rule (a global caliphate) achieved and sustained through terror. In Iran, during the Carter administration, the shah fell. Freedom was thick in the air. Then Khomeini took over. Today freedom lies crushed, al-Qaida and the Taliban have sprouted, and Iran has satellized first Gaza (through Hamas) and now Lebanon (through Hezbollah). Syria remains in Iran’s orbit, and Turkey nudges seemingly ever closer.

Now in Egypt, during an Obama administration boasting a foreign policy no less befuddled, ideological, and incompetent than Carter’s, Mubarak is out. Were the Tahrir Square demonstrations genuinely spontaneous? Did his fall just happen, the demonstrators emboldened and enabled by the Internet? Or were those at Tahrir mere marionettes manipulated by an Islamofascist Muslim Brotherhood?

The ‘Hood traces back to a late 1920s founding and to early training by Nazi goons. Many of its alumni are — or were — al-Qaida stars. It helped establish Hamas, which it and Iran still sustain. The ‘Hood’s Supreme Guide, one Mohamed Badi, insists his group will “continue to raise the banner of jihad” against Jews — in his words the ‘Hood’s “first and foremost enemies.” He hates America, signifies for targeting U.S. troops, deplores “Zio-American arrogance and tyranny,” and seeks for Egypt creation of an Islamist state.

Such lovelies could have arranged the demonstrations in Cairo and across the Muslim world. Or they may have been as surprised by those demonstrations as the Obamians were. In either case, as Egypt’s most efficient, disciplined, and stabilizing (there’s that word again) force besides the military, the Muslim Brotherhood may be perfectly positioned to satellize Egypt — thereby advancing the Islamist territorial imperative, not to mention the Iranian dream.

Perhaps it’s true: The Internet may be a liberating tool unimagined just a generation ago. In its face, possibly not even the most ruthless of regimes can survive. Or perhaps in liberating a people subjugated in poverty (at $6,200 per year, per-capita Egyptian income ranks behind Bosnia, Jamaica and Cuba), the Internet liberates only to invite more terrifying subjugation by Islamist cut-throats — as with communist cadres — waiting to rush from the shadows into the corridors of power.

Liberty is of course the ultimate cause. Always. Before our eyes, we may be seeing it blossom — so greatly fertilized by the Internet — throughout the Muslim world. Then again, terrorizing Islamists may move in and capture these revolutions, converting them at the muzzles of guns, Maoist-like, into perversions of democracy that allow one man one vote — once.

That would be the worst sort of outcome. Still, it would enable a blame-mongering American left to unload once again on George Bush, its perceived illegitimate president who planted freedom in the Muslim world, for the perverted, illegitimate democracy his “Freedom Agenda” ultimately wrought.

When will Islamized Amanpour explain the west to HER Muslim bigoted world?

When will Islamized Amanpour explain the west to HER Muslim bigoted world?

April 6, 2009

Christiane Amanpour was all smiles, overly excited to CNN’s anchor’s announcement of Obama’s words to Turkey: “US is not, never will be at war with Islam”.
In an orchestrated “question” by CNN’s news anchor she was “asked” what US population “know” or feel about Islam, she said that 55% don’t know much about Islam and 48% view Islam unfavorably, all that – programmed leading up to her prepared statement that she is going to have a program about “educating Americans on Islam” – so called “documentary.
As you may recall, it was this C. Amanpour who in a “God’s warriors” series has put it all in one basket: Jihadi fascists who attempt to rule the entire world under oppressive Caliphate, with radical Christians and with radical Zionists.

A very huge error of omission was of course that current Turkey’s elected party is a radical Islamic one :

(Erdogan’s Islamist party wins Turkey’s election – Telegraph Erdogan’s Islamist party wins Turkey’s election … The election pitted the AKP, with its Islamic roots, against a secular and nationalist opposition, …
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/1558290/Erdogans-Islamist-party-wins-Turkeys-election.html

Violence mars Turkish vote, AK Party to win mandate – Boston.com Mar 29, 2009 … Campaigning had much of the atmosphere of a general election, … down the AK Party, which is rooted in political Islam …

AK Party won local elections on Sunday but Prime Minister … AK Party, which swept to power after crushing secularists in a 2002 election. … The AK Party, rooted in political Islam but also embracing nationalists…
http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20090329/wl_nm/us_turkey_elections )

A few questions to “objective” Islamized Christianne Amanpour:

Will she mention Muhammad’s massacre of the NATIVE Jews of Saudi Arabia just because they refused to “accept” Muhammad as a “prophet’?

Will she mention the violence Muhammad has led on all “non-believers’, Christians or others?

Will she mention the Islamic genocide by Turkey on Armenians and on Greek Christians at the turn of the century?

Will she mention US’ Thomas Jefferson’s fight against Islamic terrorists of Barbary Pirates?

Will she mention the massacres by Muslims on Jews in recent history prior to the re-establishment of Israel, like 1929 Hebron 1941 Farhud in Iraq, both by the Arab Muslim leader: Haj Amin Al Husseini?

Will she mention that anti western, or anti all non-Muslims: Osama Bin Laden is a “hero” in mainstream Islam today?

Will she mention that it was Jimmy Carter who pushed for the motions that later on brought the radical Ayatollah Hummeini Islamic regime?

Will she explain that the Ayattollah’s fruit: Islamic Hitler Mahmoud Ahmadinejad (who “denies” the holocaust in order to commit a second, to “wipe out” 6,000,000 Jews of Israel) sees himself as the Muslim apocalyptic Messiah the “Mehdi” and his global army Hezbollah in: Lebanon, Somalia, Iraq, and even reaching our southern border with its connection to drug cartels (drugging Jihad)?

Last nut not least, When is CNN in Arabic going to explain Christianity and Judaism to the bigoted Arab Muslim world, is that not the most important thing to do… for world peace?

EU approves sanctions against ISLAMIC (oppression) republic of Iran (What a blow to Islamofascism’s enabler and appeaser Jimmy Carter)

EU approves sanctions against ISLAMIC (oppression) republic of Iran (What a blow to Islamofascism’s enabler and appeaser Jimmy Carter)

Iran’s biggest bank Mon Jun 23, 11:05 AM ET

BRUSSELS, Belgium – European Union nations approved new sanctions against Iran on Monday, including an assets freeze of the country’s biggest bank.

The Bank of Melli is suspected of providing services to Iran’s nuclear and ballistic missile programs and was blacklisted by the United States last year.

The EU said it will also announce Tuesday additional financial and travel sanctions — effective immediately — on several Iranian companies and “senior experts” linked to Tehran’s nuclear program.

The 27-nation bloc is also studying sanctions against Iran’s oil and gas sector — but such a step would probably take several months to implement, diplomats say.

Monday’s sanctions were formally adopted without debate at the beginning of EU talks in Luxembourg. EU leaders agreed on the measure at talks in Brussels on Friday.

Western nations fear Iran’s uranium enrichment program could be used to make a nuclear bomb. Iran insists its enrichment work is intended to produce fuel for nuclear reactors that would generate electricity and has vowed to push ahead with uranium enrichment.

The EU’s foreign policy chief, Javier Solana, held unsuccessful talks with Iranian officials in Tehran last week in the latest diplomatic overture aimed at convincing them to accept an offer of economic incentives in return for an end to its uranium enrichment program.

In Tehran, independent analyst Saeed Laylaz said the freezing of Bank Melli’s assets would lead to the Iranian economy becoming more isolated and more dependent on Chinese products.

But he suggested President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad might stand to benefit. Targeting Iran “drives inflation up,” Laylaz said, “but it helps Ahmadinejad’s government hide its failures behind the sanction.”
