"Some of those mulsim men down there are not very muslim." and "Some of those muslim nations are not very muslim." While I have been at college I have met many very nice and peaceful muslims, but I overall disagree with the premise of their religion. The roots that Islams grows from seems to be more like a cult than a religion inspired by god. When the army of Islam marched out of Mecca for the first time, it came as a conquering army and not the army of liberartion that the muslims try to tell us it was. At the same time, the Jews in Jerusalem at the time were very wicked people, so I can understand why god found them unworthy of holding domination over this holy city. Western muslims present us with a ideal image of islam that does not exist anywhere in the world other than their imagination. The reality is that islam is a religion of domination and control, a tool that selfish men use to manipulate and control a larger population. Taking power and authority over other people is a lower path, the way of the material world. True servent leaders serve the needs of the people they lead rather than their own selfish desires, and that is a higher path, the way of the spirit. P.s. Ellen R Sheeley said that "honor killing" is part of pre-islamic arabic tribal traditions. Well, so is the wearing the hijab for females, but now it is considered as "required by the religion." Perhaps many "islamic" beliefs and traditions find their roots in arabic tribal traditions. Just my thoughts on it.
